01 What is JobHistory? ▾
JobHistory is a free NHS job search tool. It brings vacancies from the main NHS recruitment platforms into one fast search, so you can find roles across the whole UK without checking four different websites.
02 Where do the job listings come from? ▾
Listings come from publicly advertised roles on NHS Jobs (England & Wales), HealthJobsUK (Trac), NHS Scotland and HSC Northern Ireland. Every listing links back to the official advert — your application always goes through the employer's own system.
03 How quickly do new jobs appear? ▾
JobHistory checks all four sources every 15 minutes during the day. A role posted on NHS Jobs in the morning typically appears here within minutes of being scraped, sorted to the top of "Latest first".
04 Is JobHistory affiliated with the NHS? ▾
No. JobHistory is an independent job aggregator (it brings all the links together). We are not affiliated with NHS England, NHS Scotland, HSC Northern Ireland or HealthJobsUK. We simply make publicly available adverts easier to find.
05 Do I apply for jobs on JobHistory? ▾
No — and that's deliberate. The Apply button takes you straight to the official advert on the original job board, where you apply exactly as normal. JobHistory never handles your application or personal documents.
06 Can international doctors and nurses use it? ▾
Yes — many of our users search from outside the UK. JobHistory helps you find relevant roles early, but always check the official advert for visa sponsorship, registration (GMC/NMC) and right-to-work requirements before applying.
07 Does it cost anything? ▾
No. JobHistory is completely free to use — no account, no sign-up, no paywall.
08 Why do jobs disappear from the site? ▾
When an advert closes or is removed from the source site, JobHistory automatically removes it too — usually within a couple of scrape cycles. That keeps the search clean of expired vacancies.
09 How do I find jobs in my specialty? ▾
Pick your profession on the
search page, then use the Specialty dropdown — it understands NHS naming quirks, so selecting Psychiatry also finds "mental health" roles, and CAMHS also picks up ADHD, autism and neurodevelopmental posts.
10 Who runs JobHistory? ▾
